Indirect Procurement (IDP) sources the non-production goods and services that support Volvo Cars’ operations. The Senior Logistics Buyer independently leads sourcing initiatives, supplier relationships, negotiations, and stakeholder engagement while driving procurement strategy, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and regional/global category objectives. What you'll do
Core Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including business requirement alignment, RFQ execution, supplier selection, negotiations, contracting, implementation, and total cost of ownership analysis.
- Own assigned categories and supplier relationships, including commercial evaluation, performance management, governance, and value delivery.
- Develop sourcing strategies and recommendations that support business objectives and informed decision-making.
- Identify and mitigate supplier, commercial, operational, and business risks through appropriate planning and escalation.
- Drive procurement process improvements that enhance efficiency, compliance, stakeholder experience, and business outcomes.
- Support contract development and supplier agreements through a working knowledge of commercial and legal terms.
What you'll bring
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Supply Chain or a related field
- Minimum of five years of procurement, supply chain, or relevant industry experience
- Multi-year ownership of leading sourcing activities, supplier negotiations, and commercial evaluations
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with senior and executive stakeholders, influence decisions, present leadership audiences, and drive alignment on strategic initiatives.
- Proficiency in MS Office and procurement-related systems (Coupa, Ariba, etc)
