Job Responsibilities
The Child & Youth Studies invites applications for Early Childhood Education and Child Development Instructor for the 2025 -2026 academic year. The primary responsibilities include administering courses, delivering instruction, designing and developing curriculum, evaluating student assignments in accordance with departmental standards, advising students, and service to the college. Courses are taught in a traditional classroom setting, hybrid, and online. Maybe observing students at lab sites. Classes are conducted on all TTC campuses and at local high schools; therefore, travel is required.
The successful candidate should be available to teach in the classroom, online, day and/or evening courses, and at all locations, as assigned. Excellence in teaching as demonstrated through effective instructional strategies and techniques in the classroom is required.
Normal teaching loads are 5-6 courses per semester in fall and spring and summer teaching assignments may be available. This position reports directly to the department head. Must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology.Minimum and Additional Requirements
This position requires a master's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with children in an early care and education environment, either as a teacher of children birth to 5 years-old or as an administrator of an early care program. The ability to work effectively in a diverse community is essential. Educational development experience (working with faculty and/or students on teaching & learning assessment) is desired.
