Trident Technical College is seeking a General Cleaner. This position reports to the Building and Janitorial Supervisor. It is considered essential personal work and requires performing duties during/after severe weather and other emergencies. Primary responsibilities are maintaining the cleanliness of assigned buildings and ensuring that all janitorial duties are completed to a high standard.

Duties include:

• Performing deep cleaning in assigned areas.
• General janitorial tasks include cleaning offices, classrooms, restrooms, elevators, water fountains, labs, and cafés, along with their furnishings
• Physical work required.

The candidate must be able to perform all job responsibilities with minimal supervision, demonstrating the necessary skills and knowledge for each task. High discretion is required when carrying out job duties. Additionally, the candidate must be highly self-motivated and capable of supervising. A solid understanding of cleaning methods, materials, equipment, and safety practices used in large commercial and institutional facilities is essential. The candidate will possess the ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate to heavy physical strength and be able to organize general cleaning activities as well as special cleaning projects. Must also be able to lift 30 lbs without assistance.
