Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the Refunds Accountant is responsible for all student refund transactions in the Colleague system, including the analysis and resolution of all refund-related activity for Direct-Pay Students, Title IV, Direct Loan, and Grant recipients. This position is also responsible for the review of escheat unclaimed refunds.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
This position requires a high school diploma and experience in clerical accounting or bookkeeping.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidate will have an associate degree with accounting-related courses, two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, a high school diploma, and four (4) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience. An understanding of accounting practices and principles is essential. Ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and financial aid regulations and perform analysis of student account records. Successful candidates will have the ability to make corrections and adjustments to student account records. Excellent customer service skills in communicating with internal and external customers.
