Job Responsibilities

This position reports to the Director of Financial Aid and will provide administrative support and general administrative functions to the Financial Aid and Veterans Assistance department. This position will also be responsible for budget monitoring, departmental purchasing, travel documents and arrangements, personnel matters, and coordination of schedules, duties, and activities for staff and student workers. Assist with processing financial aid and veteran student documents. Supports the director in coordinating financial information and data collection, review, and input.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

This position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree plus one (1) year related work experience or an associate degree plus three (3) years related work experience, or a high school diploma plus five (5) years related work experience. Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the internal and external customers of financial aid and veterans assistance are strongly preferred. The candidate will have experience creating forms, brochures, and/or flyers. The ability to apply analytical and problem-solving techniques to investigate, evaluate, and resolve administrative and/or operational situations affecting the department is critical. Ideal candidate will be creative and have knowledge and skill in using computer software and integrated student system databases. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, utilizing sound judgment and applying quality customer service standards and procedures. Previous working experience regarding financial aid availability and resources for students, supervising and evaluating support staff, and financial aid principles is a plus.
