Job Responsibilities
- The employee will direct the South Carolina Oyster Recycling and Enhancement (SCORE) Program and coordinate community-based and large-scale habitat restoration projects throughout South Carolina.
Job Duties Include:- Supervise, train, and evaluate SCORE and grant-funded staff and coordinate field and volunteer activities
- Plan and oversee contractual oyster restoration projects, including site selection, shell procurement, bidding, contractor coordination, and post-project monitoring
- Manage oyster reef, salt-marsh, living shoreline, and other grant- or mitigation-funded restoration projects
- Track project budgets, schedules, data, grant requirements, results, and required reports
- Oversee Army Corp of Engineers permit applications and compliance reports
- Develop grant proposals and coordinate with agencies, contractors, partners, stakeholders, and the public
- Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of vessels, vehicles, trailers, heavy equipment, and other program equipment
