Job Responsibilities

The Avionics Program Coordinator leads the day-to-day operations of the avionics program while supporting student success and program quality. This role combines instruction, program oversight, and administrative coordination to ensure curriculum, faculty, and resources align with industry standards and college expectations. The coordinator operates with a high degree of initiative and leadership in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver instruction in avionics and aircraft electronics, including electrical systems, communication and navigation systems, radar systems, and circuit testing and troubleshooting, ensuring alignment with course objectives and industry standards.
- Design, develop, and update curriculum, course materials, and instructional methods; ensure program alignment with current technologies, FAA regulations, and industry practices.
- Coordinate daily program operations, including scheduling, adjunct faculty oversight, accreditation support, advisory committee engagement, and maintaining program quality and integrity.
- Evaluate student performance and adjunct faculty; maintain accurate academic records; conduct degree audits; and ensure timely reporting and documentation.
- Advise students on academic progress, program requirements, and career pathways; support recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
- Assist with program budgeting, equipment management, faculty scheduling, and operational planning; represent the program on committees and support college initiatives.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aircraft maintenance or a closely related field is required; alternatively, an associate degree in aircraft maintenance or a closely related field combined with two (2) years of relevant work experience will be considered.
Applicants who do not currently hold a degree must be willing to complete an associate degree in aircraft maintenance or avionics within two (2) years of employment. Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who possess a Bachelor’s degree in aircraft maintenance or a related field and at least two (2) years of teaching experience in a post-secondary educational setting.
Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft electronics, including electrical systems, communication and navigation systems, radar systems, and electronic troubleshooting, as well as familiarity with FCC rules and regulations.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and provide excellent customer service.
Proficiency with computer systems and standard business applications, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to work effectively in a technology-driven environment.
