Job Responsibilities
- This employee will work within SCDNR's Vessel Operations Section at the Marine Resources Division (MRD).
Job Duties Include:- Operating main engines, generators, various pumps and motors, A/C units and hydraulic systems while underway.
- Performing preventative maintenance on main diesel and generator engines, generator, hydraulics, electronics, deck gear, rigging and all State-issued equipment.
- Operating cranes, winches and all heavy deck gear.
- Instructing scientific party in the safe operation of winches.
- Requisitioning and maintaining proper spare parts and filter inventory for engineering department on board.
