MAINTENANCE LEAD- 2nd Monday-Friday 2pm-11:30pm

POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Lead follows Maintenance Department procedures and performs specific duties based on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) for the Maintenance Department. The Maintenance Lead will work with the Facilities Director and Safety Officer and Maintenance Supervisor to plan, prioritize, and train equipment maintenance staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES – Satisfactorily performing and/or achieving the following Responsibilities are essential duties of the job.

  • Manages the maintenance activities for production equipment. Assigns and oversees the work of the maintenance and repair of Thorne production equipment.
  • Knows and follows the Maintenance Department policies and procedures and Thorne Research policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Ensures all maintenance personnel are trained in SOP’s and that they are properly followed.
  • Establishes schedules, methods, and inspections to assure areas of responsibility are maintained in a constant state of inspection-readiness, including cleanliness, safety, and compliance with cGMP requirements.
  • Participates in the defining and development of standards, policies, and procedures pertaining to the Maintenance department.
  • Trains, leads, and evaluates employee performance; provides development opportunities and coaching support.
  • Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled equipment maintenance duties.
  • Coordinates and oversees work performed by outside contractors and vendors.
  • Seeks formal and informal performance assessments of self, including performance versus expectations and goals, behaviors, and leadership potential.
  • Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety, environmental practices, area processes, and waste reduction opportunities.
  • Actively participates in required training and development programs and electives as suit one’s needs, and support colleagues, trainers, and management as appropriate with these efforts.

What You Need:

  • By training, education and/or experience, employee must be able to perform the essential duties of the job. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility is required. Previous experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, or Food manufacturing preferred.
