The Boeing P-8 Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft is a military aircraft developed by Boeing Defence, built on a modified design of the 737-800ERX. The Aircraft is fitted with equipment to tackle a diverse range of missions, including protecting submarines and reconnaissance missions. The team is based in Lossiemouth UK, but all new candidates must be able and willing to work on assignment for periods of time if required by our customers.
The Role
The Support Equipment Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining all aircraft maintenance ground support equipment and tooling. Proactively working to support all the Aircraft Maintenance activity, this role is key to ensuring that the team works safely and is able to meet our customer commitments.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing electronic inventory systems for tooling and ground equipment on Boeing and MOD systems.
- Unpacking and commissioning new equipment.
- Maintaining and servicing ground support equipment and tooling.
- Ordering critical spares to ensure equipment unserviceability is minimised. Handling hazardous materials in accordance with legal requirements.
- Adapting to emergent needs from the customer and prioritising work appropriately
Basic Qualifications:
- Fluent written and spoken English
Preferred Experience:
- Maintenance/Engineering qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in a mechanical/engineering environment.
- Experience using special tools/equipment to perform assigned maintenance tasks.
- Understanding safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Other information:
This role is subject to contract award.SC clearance eligibility is required. The role is working Monday - Friday, day shift.
