We are currently seeking an experiencedSystems and Safety Engineering Managerto join our dynamic and experiencedSystems & Safety Integration team in Brazil.

The candidate will provide technical and people leadership in an interdisciplinary environment focused on systems engineering, development assurance, systems safety, Fault Tree Analysis, and Reliability and Maintainability practices.

The successful candidate will guide a team that develops and maintains systems engineering and safety processes, supports airplane programs with verification, validation, and certification-related deliverables, and helps ensure consistent application of engineering standards, training, and controls across the BCA portfolio. This is an opportunity for a proven leader who can drive collaboration across organizations, influence technical direction, and foster a culture of safety, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop an engineering team delivering systems engineering, systems safety integration, fault tree analysis, and reliability & maintainability (R&M) support across airplane programs.
  • Oversee and approve technical approaches, process documentation, tools, controls, and safety/reliability deliverables; provide technical guidance on complex integration and safety issues.
  • Oversee Fault Tree Analyses and related safety assessments, ensure quality and compliance of verification/validation activities, and coordinate preparation and executive-level presentation of certification evidence to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive consistent application of development assurance, systems safety, and R&M best practices; lead process improvements and organization-wide adoption.
  • Acquire and prioritize resources, manage workloads, and align team efforts to project and organizational goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, suppliers, and partners; coach, mentor, and motivate team members; travel as needed.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate willbe requiredto work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must have existing rights to work in Brazil.
  • Must have a degree in Engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (ConselhoRegional deEngenhariaeAgronomia- CREA)
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communication skills in the English Language
  • Experience in systems engineering, systems safety, product development, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience with Fault Tree Analysis or other safety analysis methods. Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader,tempmanager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in systems and development program environments.
  • Background in systems safety, development assurance, certification, or product assurance.
  • Experience conducting or reviewing Fault Tree Analysis for complex aerospace or engineered systems.
  • Experience with Reliability and Maintainability engineering, including integration into product development or program support.
  • Experience working across multiple organizations and influencing without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, drive continuous improvement, and balance safety, quality, reliability, and schedule priorities.
  • Experience leading complex engineering projects or cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and translate it into actionable plans.
  • Training development and deployment experience.
  • Agile workflow management experience.
  • Experience coaching and developing engineering talent.
  • Familiarity with FAA certification processes, compliance frameworks, and product assurance principles.
  • Experience supporting verification, validation, and certification readiness activities.
  • Experience preparing technical compliance evidence for internal and external stakeholders.
