The Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) team is searching for Flight Test Maintenance Manager and support teams in Charleston, SC.
This position will be responsible for the Field Operations Management role and have oversight of all the Flight Test Maintenance activity for the Charleston-based Flight Test team. This includes Flight Test Instrumentation build-up / installation/ and check-out, as well as aircraft maintenance, flight release, and airworthiness.
The South Carolina Flight Test Maintenance team consists of highly capable, multi-disciplined aircraft mechanics that cover a broad range of airplane flight test, pre-flight, and operational environments. The Flight Test Manager in South Carolina will be responsible for the ongoing development and fostering of the continual learning environment that is critical for our people and for supporting the wide range of activity that the team supports on a regular basis. This will include identifying and providing training and development opportunities that support the flight test needs of the larger BT&E team in South Carolina.
This position will be responsible and accountable for aircraft flight release and ensure that all activity in pre-flight aligns with airworthiness requirements for the purpose of the given flight.
This role will include building relationships with Production system partners, larger BT&E Maintenance capability leaders, local BT&E South Carolina leaders, and Safety and Quality organizations and partners in multiple units that we interface with.

Position Responsibilities:
Lead by example for safety and quality
Lead, motivate, and develop the people on the BSC Flight Test Maintenance team
Maintain airplane flight release authority
Manage all training and certification requirements needed for the wide variety of work the Flight Test team is responsible for
Lead the team in execution of instrumentation build up plans and shop order instructions on and off of the airplane
Plan support requirements for remote test maintenance needs
Travel on remote testing with the test team and provide seamless oversight of the maintenance team and work statement
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
10+ years experience in Aircraft Maintenance
Experience working in Flight Test
A&P License
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5+ experience in aircraft maintenance in a managerial or team lead role leading people and/or projects
787 maintenance experience
Experience with VELOCITY, DWR, CMES, AFRS
Fabrication / Machine Shop management experience
Tool control experience
Asset management experience
Project Management experience (cost, schedule, risk, resource)

Summary pay range: $144,500 - $195,500
