The Boeing Company’s Government Operations team is seeking a SeniorGlobal Engagement - Community Investor to join their team in North Charleston, SC.
This team is focused on developing and executing advocacy campaigns through various activities including lobbying, community relations, and grassroots efforts. The Government Operations team works with state and local government, community leaders and organizations, the business, and other key stakeholders to:
Protect and advance the interests, competitiveness, reputation, and brand of The Boeing Company;
Enhance the Boeing brand through strategic community engagement, employee volunteerism, and leveraging community investments;
Shape policy at the federal, state and local level in support of the company’s interests; and
Reduce costs and obtain resources to support growth and productivity.
As part of the Government Operations team, Boeing Global Engagement (BGE) is responsible for the development and execution of charitable giving strategies and community investment plans. Additionally, the function leads employee community engagement opportunities and supports advocacy efforts in the community in partnership with the State and Local team. Boeing Global Engagement team members also serve as subject matter experts for local community issues and provide recommendations to ensure effective and impactful community engagement.
As our Boeing Global Engagement focal point for South Carolina, you will have the opportunity to establish and manage relationships with community and business partners by networking, sharing information, and identifying opportunities for collaboration in philanthropic investments. This will maximize impact across South Carolina and promote Boeing as a global leader in corporate citizenship. You will support the needs of the business and the community by investing in strategically aligned programs with nonprofit organizations and supporting employee community engagement activities.
Position Responsibilities include the following, covering the South Carolina region:
Community Investment
Lead and develop actionable and measurable community investment plans that align with corporate strategies, ensuring the effective use of company resources with a focus on the veterans and environment portfolios
Support Boeing’s charitable grant and business sponsorship processes across the state
Define, develop, and execute effective evaluation criteria and methodologies for charitable grants and business sponsorships issued
Develop approval justifications for all recommended charitable grants and business sponsorships, specifically detailing how the investment aligns with the appropriate focus area strategy and supports the Boeing brand
Conduct due diligence, including evaluation of nonprofit operations and financial data, and assess organizational effectiveness before presenting grant recommendations
Evaluate the impact of community investments and the quality of due diligence using mutually agreed-upon objectives to ensure quantifiable results and performance according to plan
Employee Community Engagement
Lead strategy and operations for employee engagement programs for South Carolina teammates
Identify how community involvement can support business objectives, and develop and implement execution plans, ensuring that all activities align with Government Operations strategy
Identify teammate engagement activities, such as sponsored ticketed events; develop and execute ticket distribution strategies; track redemption, engagement, and return on investment
Manage community board engagement for executives serving on nonprofit boards on behalf of Boeing
Provide guidance and support for the Employees Community Fund of Boeing South Carolina grant-making committee
Serve as the focal point for employee volunteer activities with key community partners
Manage enterprise-wide charitable giving drives and align them with corporate strategy
Internal/External Relations
Represent Boeing and the Government Operations function externally in South Carolina through meetings, community events, sponsored engagements, and teammate-centered opportunities
Assist with event and tour execution for internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to the annual grants luncheon, annual interfaith luncheon, tours and formal visits from VIP elected and government officials, and Boeing Family Day
Build strategic cross-functional and cross-organizational partnerships to improve processes, resolve problems, and achieve operational and strategic goals
Promote Government Operations priorities and provide subject matter expertise to site leadership and other company leaders who manage and participate in external relationships
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with stakeholders, peers, internal leaders, and external partners, including government, community, and nonprofit leaders
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience as a Project Management Specialist executing several projects at one time
5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
5+ years of experience with giving presentations and public speaking
3+ years of experience building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders
Ability to travel domestically as needed
Ability to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience creating and analyzing data to identify trends and communicate a story to depict findings
Experience with nonprofit organizations and/or corporate volunteer programs
Experience participating in and leading cross-functional teams

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $98,600-$133,400
