Description

We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead and oversee our satellite operation in the Savannah Metropolitan region. This individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, supervising staff, building relationships, expanding market presence, and ensuring that the operation achieves financial, safety, and quality objectives consistent with company standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site work construction, leadership skills, and the ability to operate independently while aligning with the broader company goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operational activities of the satellite office, ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Drive business growth and support business development efforts through client meetings, networking, and building relationships with key regional stakeholders.
  • Contribute to preconstruction by reviewing estimates, evaluating project plans, and providing operational input to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, quality, safety, and crew performance. Monitor project progress, resource allocation, and productivity metrics, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Proactively identify and manage issues in the field, including delays, resource conflicts, safety concerns, or quality challenges.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop direct reports, including estimators, project managers, superintendents, and administrative staff.
  • Coordinate with headquarters to ensure alignment of policies, procedures, and strategic objectives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and local permitting requirements.
  • Prepare operational reports, budgets, and forecasts for executive leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost efficiencies, and business growth in the region.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of experience in civil site work construction, including supervisory or management roles.
  • Engineering degree preferred, with strong understanding of site work construction practices and project management.
  • Must have strong knowledge of the geographical area, including local clients, subcontractors, competitors, labor availability, and regional project trends.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive operational excellence.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, preconstruction, and project management processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with budgets, scheduling, and resource planning.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions aligned with company goals.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
