The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and completion of multiple site construction projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Duties include scheduling, coordinating equipment and materials, budgeting, hiring team members, communicating project status, and monitoring overall progress to ensure profitability all while maintaining quality and safety standards. Senior Project Managers will delegate tasks to individual Project Managers, setting clear standards for their work required to successfully manage each site construction project.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the scope of work and deliverables for each project by reviewing plans, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings with project team.
  • Provide support and leadership to Project Managers when monitoring relationships with owners, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure satisfaction and respond to escalated matters with projects, budgets, issues, deadlines, change orders, etc.
  • Facilitate meetings with project managers to understand the overall project status, monitor the schedule, identify potential issues, assist with problem solving, and communicate with superintendents and office staff as needed.
  • Monitor project budget to ensure financial targets are being met, including timely and accurate invoicing, pay applications, and cost reporting.
  • Attend scheduling meetings and oversee the schedule for each project to verify completion, identify potential issues, and ensure accuracy.
  • Exercise quality control while reviewing subcontracts and purchase orders with project manager to ensure accurate and timely buyout for each project, while concurrently considering sub and vendor availability and workload, as it pertains to meeting project schedule.
  • Manage project budget to meet the financial targets, ensure timely and accurate invoicing, and monitor receivables for each project to include subcontractor billings
  • Foster growth and development of project managers by helping them problem solve, connecting them with appropriate resources, setting clear standards for success, and providing motivational support during high pressure situations.
  • Review submittals for accuracy and assist project managers in identifying the critical path to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner.
  • Review cost reports with employees on a regular basis to identify potential issues, ensure projects are within budget, and assist in meeting reporting deadlines.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, participate in strategic planning and motivate project managers, and create an environment that encourages progress for project managers and the organization as a whole.
  • Provide feedback to employees about performance and track their progress, recognizing warning signs that a project could experience delays or go over budget.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Other responsibilities assigned by management

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field- Experience in a directly related field may be accepted in lieu of formal education
  • A minimum of 10 years of project management experience
  • Proficient in B2W and ViewPoint software preferred
