Job Summary and Qualifications
Major Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily operations of Patient Services to ensure both patient and employee satisfaction, safety, and HACCP guidelines are maintained. Collaborates as a Food and Nutrition Services Leader of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Responsible for overall operation and management of the patient tray delivery system.
- Responsible for coordination of daily floor stock delivery. Monitors costs and provides financial reports as needed.
- Coordinates and implements performance improvement and quality control programs for Food and Nutrition Services.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, coaching and counseling of staff in accordance with hospital HR policies.
- Responsible for ensuring all required documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with HACCP guidelines and regulatory standards such as TJC, CMS, etc.
- Participates on hospital committees
- Oversees Patient Computer system, is on-site administrator and liaison with IT&S department.
- Oversees Department temperature monitoring system.
- Acts as a resource and/or expert in food and nutrition information
- Assumes accountability for promoting consistent, positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service.
- Maintains a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary
- Provides education support for staff, ensures necessary certifications are maintained.
- Coordinates facility preceptors for Dietetic Interns.
- Coordinates and/or performs a variety of staff development functions to include but not limited to: department specific needs assessment, development of goals and objectives, implementation methods, evaluation measures and instruction of education activities
- Attend Leadership development seminars, WebEx, conferences as available.
- Complete identified leadership development training in HealthStream
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.”
What qualifications you will need:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Bachelors degree in Nutrition or Dietetics Preferred
- Minimum of three years supervisory/management experience in healthcare setting Required
- Minimum of two years healthcare Clinical Nutrition experience Preferred
- Food Protection Management Certification (ServeSafe, NRFSP, Always Food Safe, Above Training, 360 Training, Prometric, etc.) Required
- Registered Dietician (RD) or Licensed Dietician (LD) preferred, or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred
