Human Resources Generalist
Sportsman
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the HR department through recruiting, onboarding, payroll administration, and benefits administration. This role serves as an employee advocate and is a champion of company policy and employer brand.
What you will do:
- Post job ads, ensuring FLSA classification compliance
- Attract applicants by using traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, schools, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates
- Screen and interview applicants; coordinate appropriate employment testing
- Manage internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring manager, transfer, offer letters, etc.
- Prepare job offers
- Administrative data processing in HRIS
- Participate in employee orientation for timekeeping, benefits, and policies
- Enter and audit all weekly payroll changes
- Communicating employee reminders for bonuses, garnishments, benefits, and 401(k)
- Coordinate new hire benefits enrollment meetings
- Perform weekly benefits claims reporting
- Perform monthly benefits invoice reconciliation
- Coordinate benefits claims management activities and associated programming
- Lead annual open enrollment
- Report and monitor out of schedule / absences within timekeeping
- Audit, enter, and maintain time off balances
- Execute additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
To be considered you must have:
- Minimum 3 years Human Resources experience
- Outgoing, diverse, creative, positive, personable attitude; non-judgmental, open-minded
- Passionate about helping people; ethical; high level of integrity and confidentiality
- Knowledge of federal and state HR/payroll laws
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced expertise in conducting several types of interviews
- Ability to cultivate relationships, promote Sportsman Boats & Phenom Yachts and follow up with candidates
Preferred Education and Experience
- HR experience in a manufacturing or construction environment
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field
- Experience working in a self-funded benefits plan
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
