SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES
Primary function is to help manage special initiatives, projects and remediations. Responsible for being proficient with and performing all critical job functions within the Loan Operations Department (including loan booking, loan maintenance, payment processing, insurance and escrow tracking/processing, collateral release processing; credit disputes, etc.) Helps to balance workloads in all departments of Loan Operations in times of short staffing and high volumes. Assists management in ensuring production deadlines/SLAs are met and that a high level of accuracy is maintained; update departmental procedures; train/cross-train employees within the department; ensures compliance with SouthState Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other operating procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist in managing through Loan Ops special projects and remediations
Balance workloads within Loan Operations in areas that are short staffed or experiencing high volumes
Perform all critical job functions within Loan Operations as needed to balance workloads within Loan Operations in areas that are short staffed or experiencing high volumes. This includes reviewing loan documentation and boarding new, renewed and modified loans to the servicing system; performing servicing maintenance on loans; processing incoming payments; track insurance; performing escrow servicing tasks; releasing collateral on paid out loans.
Review and update departmental procedures and assist management with process improvements.
Review and maintain various departmental reports in order to identify trends or areas of concern.
Serve as a subject matter expert and train/cross-train employees; identify cross-training needs within each area.
Participate in conversion related activities as needed. This will include data collection, process discussions, data mapping, testing phases, production conversion, and post-conversion monitoring, etc.
Actively engages in personal development by identifying and pursuing resources needed to improve performance.
Keep abreast of industry trends and regulations, identify changes affecting the department and take appropriate action, notify staff of internal operational changes.
Responsible for organizational integrity and business ethics as it relates to this position.
Ensure compliance of South State Holdings, Inc. Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other operating policies and procedures. Completes compliance training, adheres to all anti-money laundering guidelines and procedures and all regulatory requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Loan Operations role is required. Must be knowledgeable of loan documents and in loan servicing functions including consumer, commercial and mortgage loans. Knowledge of Federal and State regulatory items is required. Experience with FiServ Premier Systems (including Navigator and Director) is preferred.
Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Proficiencies in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to effectively access and interpret information via various computer systems, documents, and reports.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is located in the office in a cubicle environment; however, when working remotely must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. Must also have a reliable, private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered. Travel may be required for training, meetings, etc. as needed.
