This role focuses on assisting with capital planning, cash flow forecasting, ROI analysis, costing analysis, and general financial analysis to support investment decisions, pricing strategies, and funding efforts. The position provides hands-on support to the annual planning process, monthly financial reporting and presentations, and grant applications.

Working collaboratively with Operations, Sales, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams, this role helps ensure financial discipline, transparency, and alignment between operational performance and capital deployment. This position is well-suited for someone early in their career who is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to learn the financial drivers of a capital-intensive business.

Key Responsibilities

• Support development and ongoing management of the capital plan, including project tracking, prioritization, and lifecycle analysis.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting, scenario analysis, and long-range financial planning.
• Help build and maintain financial analyses to evaluate pricing strategies, return on investment (ROI), and new business opportunities.
• Prepare clear, concise, and visually organized reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Support revenue-related activities, including analysis and assistance with contract pricing and negotiations, as needed.
• Coordinate and assist with funding initiatives, including federal and state grant identification, application support, and compliance tracking.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, and Planning teams to align financial assumptions with operational realities.
• Compile, validate, and analyze data with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Prepare recurring financial analyses, dashboards, and decision-support materials for leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field. Masters of Business Administration or related field, preferred.

• 1+ year of experience in financial analysis, internships, or relevant accounting or other related coursework; strong academic or project-based experience welcomed.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy when working with data.
• Foundational analytical and quantitative skills, with an eagerness to learn financial planning and capital analysis.
• Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with data.
• Financial modeling and data visualization skills (e.g., dashboards, charts, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools) strongly preferred but not required.
• Experience or interest in capital-intensive or infrastructure environments is a plus.
• Willingness to understand the end-to-end business lifecycle and occasionally work in the field collecting data, as needed.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment with strong communication skills.
