The South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) owns and operates public seaport and intermodal facilities in Charleston, Dillon, and Greer. Our 700+ employees handle cargo, operate, and maintain cargo handling equipment, manage port facilities and operations, and support the port system in a fast-paced 24/7 environment.
Job Description

In an effort to partner with several leading universities throughout the country, we are revamping and bolstering our Internship Program to bring both value to candidates and our organization alike. Our aim is to provide a world-class opportunity for students looking for world-class experience. We will generate specific job descriptions to couple with the curriculum of selected students, creating specific training and learning opportunities along the way.
Qualifications
SC Ports is looking for dedicated young professionals seeking to further their education with real-world experience at one of the fastest-growing ports in the US!
The assignment is scheduled from May 18, 2026, through July 24, 2026. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and time management skills are necessary.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Interns must be currently enrolled as a traditional undergraduate or graduate student or must have completed a relevant program of study within the last 12 months.
Internships openings vary based on departmental needs and selected interns will work closely with the coordinator of the program to sculpt the ideal experience based on individual learning goals, available projects and general support needs within departments.
