Accountant

Location: Charleston, South Carolina, US

Reporting to: Accounting Manager

Job Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and engaged personality with a hands-on working style. In this role you will be a team member of the Finance team based in Charleston/South Carolina and report directly to the Accounting Manager.

Main Responsibilities

  • Process and organize supplier invoices to ensure bills are paid in a timely manner
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records, including ledgers, journals, invoices, receipts, and information related to supplies
  • Assist the accounting department in daily, monthly, and annual (close) activities, including generating financial reports & analysis, journal entries, reconciliations, developing budgets, preparing taxes, and assisting with audits and resolving discrepancies
  • Key point of internal contact for Supply Chain team for vendor questions, approval follow up’s and PO related topics
  • Collaborate with other departments to execute proper business partnering
  • Ensure compliance of applicable accounting standards, rules, and internal controls
  • Ad hoc requests
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience required
  • Technical knowledge of accounting regulations, policies and procedures required
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years working experience in accounts payable and/or accounting
  • Attention to detail, professional and independent working style with a strong sense of teamwork
  • Well organized, responsible, resilient and stress resistant
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with SAP S4Hana is a strong plus
  • Experience in international business preferred
