Job Overview
The Machine Maintenance Specialist PLC will focus on implementing predictive maintenance technologies on central facility and production equipment in a highly automated medical production facility. With a focus on PLC, control systems and programming, they will assist in troubleshooting and repairing all equipment within the facility from air compressors to injection molding machines as needed to help reduce equipment down time.
Main Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and maintain control systems of facility and production equipment including PLC, servo drives, vision systems, robotics, industrial I/O and machine communication systems.
- Develop systems to help implement I4.0 predictive maintenance technologies to existing equipment to help identify equipment failures before they occur.
- Help to create specifications for I4.0 implementations in new equipment to improve uptime and robustness of control systems.
- Develop and implement WI (Work Instruction), Standard Operation Procedure to ensure the efficient operation of the manufacturing & facility equipment.
- Contributes to project teams to ensure the successful completion of team objectives.
- Identifies training needs and develops training and standard operating procedures for employees to ensure the effective use of continuous process improvement methodologies.
- Conducts safety audits and observations throughout the continuous improvement process, to ensure safe practices are not sacrificed by procedural changes or process modifications.
- Find solutions to problem areas in existing operational procedures.
- Identifies/communicates/overcomes obstacles that may prohibit meeting production requirements.
- Promotes a clean/safe workplace.
Skills and Qualification
- Associate of Applied Science Degree, apprenticeship graduate, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in highly automated manufacturing environment with focus on troubleshooting equipment and interaction with tools and programs to communicate with the machine.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well within multi-discipline teams for troubleshooting and documenting issues.
- Excellent in troubleshooting, analyzing, and solving problems with various electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls and systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex control issues.
- Knowledge of Siemens control systems and ProfiNet communication.
- Willingness to become a subject matter expert on multiple control systems and lead development of documentation and training of employees.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance-leading practices, including preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and reliability-centered maintenance
- PIT certification for man lifts
- Associate of Applied Science Degree, apprenticeship graduate, or equivalent work experience.
