Job Overview
The Facilities Services Manager maintains and oversees a company’s grounds, space management for the site, janitorial, security, pest control, and equipment to ensure that a workspace is safe and functional. Their duties include negotiating contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations, and coordinating renovations and updates. Establish safety protocols, supervise security staff, schedule routine maintenance, plan new projects, and perform emergency repairs. Facilities Service Manager schedules daily janitorial services to keep the building’s interior attractive and hygienic. They assess the costs of maintaining workspaces and make recommendations for becoming more efficient. Need to have a strong sense of urgency and don’t put off tasks, instead taking the initiative to resolve them as quickly as possible.
Main Responsibilities
- Managing the cleaning and maintenance service tasks for the site and corporate housing
- Monitoring the safety, pest control, and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots, outdoor recreation spaces, and corporate housing
- Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed in the site & corporate housing
- Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors as required.
- Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals
- Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders
- Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety, and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff
- Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions
- Collaborating with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs
Skills and Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent professional-level experience
- 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or equivalent related functions
- Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations
- Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management
- Must be a well-organized, detail and customer (internal and external) oriented self-starter
- Strong procurement and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate staff.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex building maintenance issues.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and to make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, including FDA regulations and ISO standards.
- Extensive hands-on engineering experience with Production, Direct and Indirect systems.
- Working knowledge of the BMS and EMS systems. Interface with Facilities Engineering, Capital Project Management, Quality Assurance, QC, Regulatory Compliance, EH&S, and Manufacturing.
- Excellent in troubleshooting, analyzing, and solving problems with various electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls and systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex control issues.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
