Description
The Material Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering materials cut from the CNC machine to various departments within Scout according to established schedules. This role ensures that the right materials are delivered to the right locations on time to support smooth operations and production flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver materials to designated departments based on daily schedules
- Verify materials against delivery requests to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Safely transport materials using carts, pallet jacks, or other approved equipment
- Coordinate with department staff to confirm delivery needs and priorities
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation
- Report material shortages, damages, or delays to the appropriate supervisor
- Follow safety guidelines and company procedures during material handling and delivery
- Keep delivery areas and equipment clean and organized
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent work experience
- Prior experience in material handling, logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing support is preferred.
- Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment (forklift certification required or ability to become certified).
- Ability to follow schedules, work instructions, and safety procedures accurately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to coordinate across departments.
- Time management skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate deliveries.
- Ability to lift and move materials within safety guidelines (typically up to 40 lbs; adjust per facility standard).
- Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with inventory systems, scanning, or basic record-keeping (MS Office familiarity preferred).
- Experience with kitting, staging, and line-side replenishment in a production environment.
- Knowledge of 5S/lean or continuous improvement practices.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing/warehouse environment with frequent standing, walking, lifting, and carrying materials for extended periods.
- May involve working around moving equipment and production lines; must maintain situational awareness and follow traffic rules.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures depending on facility area.
