Description
- Assisting in the evaluation, data gathering, and providing solutions to problems associated with customer Data Center sites, including national and international systems; this includes all associated edge site equipment and cabled infrastructures
- Acting as part of a team conducting site surveys and supporting the development of installation packages as needed in support of DoD Data Center Consolidation efforts
- Providing support as required to install, activate, and/or transition networking equipment such as network switches, routers, and encryption devices
- Assisting engineering staff members in design, fabrication, integration and testing of electronic circuits, cables, and mounting equipment in support of field upgrades and installations
- Performing on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of company products and equipment
- Providing technical support to customers and deployed teams on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment
- Developing SOVT test procedures, test plans, test reports, and procedures to maintain lab facilities and calibrate test equipment as needed; may support engineering tests and detailed experimental testing
- Conducting site surveys and supporting the development of installation packages as needed in support of JWICS upgrade efforts
- Installing, programing, and troubleshooting Type 1 Bulk encryptors such as KG-175Gs, Deltas and Alphas, Raytheon KG-345/350s

Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years experience conducting onsite installations at DOD facilities
- Experience with Copper and Fiber Optic building installation and manufacturing patch cords
- Basic understanding and hands on experience with mechanical, chemical and fusion splicing fiber optic cable
- Experience in being part of a communication cable infrastructure integration team
- Integration of Local Area Network and Wide Area Network communication equipment such as routers, switches, servers and intrusion detection equipment
- Have a valid passport and willing to do short duration travel for up to 50-75% of the entire year (nonconsecutive)
Desired Skills
- Entry level knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling to include installation, termination, and maintenance of RG-59, Single-Mode Fiber (SMF), Multi-Mode Fiber (MMF) and Shield Twisted Pair (STP)
- Working knowledge of Cisco IOS and affiliated hardware
- BISCI Technician certification
- Prior military experience

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL
