The Senior Mechanical Machine Builder is a key role at Sapience with a strong compensation package. It is a role for people that have past experience performing build, debug, and installation of automation equipment or industrial machinery. In this role, you will be the lead person on projects and will also work with other machine builders and engineers for the system build and test.

In this role, you will be the lead person on projects and will also work with other machine builders and engineers for the system build and test.
Role and Responsibilities: Senior Mechanical Machine Builder
- Executing the installation, debug, and production launch of the equipment for robot systems during the pre-build at Sapience and the site installation.
- Assemble, debug, and test robot systems and automation equipment such as custom machines and conveyors based on drawing packages on the shop floor at Sapience and at customer facilities
- Use shop tools and machines to perform small fabrication as required for systems
- Use forklifts and other rigging equipment to place equipment
- Perform teardown and packaging of equipment
- For larger projects, coordinate the activities of other machine builders or mechanical contractors
- Coordinate with other engineers involved in the project such as PLC Programmers, Robot programmers and Project Managers
- Travel to customer sites to perform installation and commissioning of systems
- Provide project status updates
- Required Skills
- Using mechanical and electrical prints and manuals to assemble equipment
- Debugging mechanical and pneumatic systems
- Interfacing with customers during the launch for status updates and other meetings
- Operating forklifts, boom lifts, and other equipment used for the installation of equipment
- Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the automation or similar industry
- Post high-school degree in a technical discipline
- Strong written and spoken language skills
- Familiar with PCs and Microsoft Office applications
- Proficient at reading technical drawings
- Familiarity with controls systems and PLCs
