SAIC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drafting Team Lead to manage and oversee the daily operations of a small team of drafters. The successful candidate will ensure all drawings adhere to ASME Y14.1 and applicable ASME standards while serving as a critical liaison between the drafting team, engineering staff, and customers.

This role requires strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills to support project objectives effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily tasking and priorities for a team of drafters.
  • Review and verify drawings for compliance with ASME Y14.1 and other relevant ASME standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between SAIC engineering staff, project management, and the drafting team.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers and provide timely status updates to both SAIC project management and customers.
  • Develop accurate schedule estimation and deliverable timelines based on project requirements.
  • Offer technical guidance and support to the drafting team as needed.

Qualifications



Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience. Will accept experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong understanding of ASME Y14.1 and related ASME drafting standards.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Technical Data Package (TDP) development.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
