SAIC is looking for a dynamic and innovative Deputy Program Manager (DPM) with excellent management and people skills. This position will require technical acumen to assist the Program Manager to oversee a complex, multi-disciplinary program in an innovative, dynamic, and dispersed work environment. Ability to articulate and communicate across all levels of program personnel up to and including senior sponsor executives. This program includes the Engineering/Design, Integration and procurement of materials, and transportation associated with the fielding of military vehicles. Ideal candidate will have experience in oversee planning, coordination, and execution to deliver on budget within schedule.
Work will be performed on site in North Charleston, SC.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As Deputy Program Manager for a critical program for our customer, the DPM leads and takes ownership of all matters relating to and adherence of all contract requirements including controlling financial and administrative costs, staffing, tracking and supporting the Program Manager with delivery of technical contract deliverables, subcontracting, quality assurance, and other requirements as levied by the sponsor.
The DPM will be responsible for financial oversight. Financial oversight includes, working with the program's project controller to plan, execute and track all financial related tasks, work closely with the contracts, subcontracts, and procurement leads to acquire all program related material and services.
The DPM assists the Program Manager to ensure compliance with quality standards, product delivery, and contract compliance, and notify SAIC leadership before they become issues.
This position provides the opportunity to lead a team to deliver a high-quality integrated vehicles and system designs that will be built/integrated in North Charleston, SC.
- Managing the finances of a complex, technical, systems delivery contract.
- Directing efforts of complex teams and methods, including SAIC, Sponsor, and subcontracts at multiple on-premises and remote locations.
- Functioning as the alternate point of contact with Sponsor and representatives on project issues, engaging team resources as appropriate.
- Driving business and staff development.
- Routinely briefing leadership on program status, milestones, and progress against plan.
- Developing procedures, planning and directing execution of the contractual, technical, multi-disciplinary engineering, programming, maintenance, and administrative for all program activities.
- Manage acquisition and employment of project resources and control financial and administrative aspects of the project.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a business or management-related field with a minimum ten (10) years of experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in DOD contracting, to include management of CPFF programs to include leadership positions of increasing responsibility.
- Experience managing technical scope on contracts greater than $5M in total value.
- Experience with complex technical programs to include design, production, fielding and training.
- Experience managing and balancing prime and subcontract skill mix while ensuring coverage and corporate financial goals are met or exceeded.
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
- Demonstrated experience managing programs/teams of a minimum of 25 FTEs or related personnel.
Desired Education and Experience:
- Active Project Management Institute (PMI) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
