Description

SAIC is looking for a Drafting Supervisor to support both existing and new programs. This position will be located in North Charleston, SC.

Job Responsibilities:

The Drafting Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the day-to-day efforts for the team that creates and/or updates the Technical Data Packages (TDPs). In addition:

  • Candidate will also coordinate with multiple project engineer(s), to meet the customer demands.
  • Supervise and mentor Surface Systems Drafting team members.
  • Coordinate drafting, modeling, and technical documentation efforts across multiple programs.
  • Track drafting changes across multiple baselines.
  • Create, package, and deliver Technical Data Packages (TDPs) while meeting Government deadlines for these deliveries.
  • Review Vendor Q&As regarding drawing issues, and correct drawings based on those Q&As (if necessary).
  • Review existing process risks and implement process improvements with the goal to exceed performance objectives and reduce costs and schedule.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience; Master’s degree and 3 years of experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Required skills:

  • Experience with MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CMPRO, and Adobe Pro is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret TDP and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience supervising project teams.
  • Strong communication skills including technical, interpersonal, written, and verbal.
  • Organization and Time Management Skills.

Required clearance:

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required to meet the security requirements for this contract.

Desired skills:

  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-31000, Department of Defense (DoD) and industry documentation standards for Engineering and Design.
  • Must be familiar with ASME standards, Technical Data Packages, and military drawing standards.
