Primary Function/General Purpose of Position -

The Strategic Sourcing Program Manager is a highly visible position with accountability at the Leadership level to develop and execute sourcing initiatives. This position will be responsible for managing purchases and overseeing the flow of processes through applicable systems. Program Manager requires the ability to collaborate, troubleshoot, communicate and manage timelines and budgets. This position is responsible for assessing opportunities and formulating sourcing strategies and interacting with business partners and key stakeholders. This position is expected to build strategic alliances with key stakeholders (including clients and suppliers) as it relates to successfully executing organization’s purchasing strategy.

Essential Job Functions

Supports Strategic Sourcing initiatives supporting clinical colleagues to conduct product research, cost analysis and presentations of initiatives.

Assist with the development and implementation of strategies and processes for reducing supply expense while not forfeiting quality of care.

Monitors, communicates, and makes improvements to assigned scope.

Collaborates with members, including physicians, to identifying and formulate improvement and standardization in support of assigned categories.

Manage assigned sourcing initiatives including scoping analysis, RFP development, proposal evaluations, negotiations, communication of recommendations, contracting, ongoing supplier management, and overseeing budget in applicable systems.

Monitor and report budget for initiatives/contracts; identify recurring trends and key opportunities for vendor or internal improvements.

Collaborates with legal, when applicable, to successfully negotiate valuable contracts on behalf of organization or membership.

Bachelors in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Analytics, Healthcare (required)

Masters in Business Administration, Informatics, Analytics, Nursing (preferred)

Work Experience

5 years progressive experience in sourcing relevant commodities for large health systems

Working Conditions

Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.

Long-distance or air travel as needed- not to exceed 10% travel.

General office environment.

May have periods of constant interruptions.
