Job Summary: The Production Materials Coordinator will work with all departments to get finished products organized and taken to their destination within the facility. This position will also perform administrative tasks for the composites production department and assist in the completion of final assembly and packaging as needed. Intermediate level position requiring a thorough knowledge of the job and the manufacturing operations, as well as a good understanding of the technical aspects of the job and their practical application to problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Supervision is limited on routine work and general instructions are given on new lines of work or special assignments.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Production Manager to direct material flow within composites facility as necessary and communicating with steel facility team members regarding part needs
  • Identify component requirements for production from engineering
  • Administrative support for production including printing and assembling drawing packets, SAP labels, and packing lists for crating, and uploading crating photos into job folders
  • Review work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped
  • Track delivery of materials, supplies and equipment where needed
  • Assist with job scheduling in SAP
  • Read/Interpret assembly blueprints
  • Work independently and follow a schedule
  • Participate in shop cleanup activities
  • Communicate with Shop Leads and steel facility team members regarding quality and production schedules
  • Responsible for quality as related to job duties, with authority to address issues of quality at any level
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Assist coworkers with other tasks as assigned
  • Operate within the requirements of an ISO 9001 Quality System
  • Work with SAP Management Software and Smartsheets to expedite production schedules
  • Work with Quality, Environmental, H&S employees to ensure and maintain compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards of Quality
  • Has the obligation to be aware of and comply with environmental, safety policies and regulations and always endures duties of high-quality standards

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to understand assembly prints
  • Mechanical aptitude; excel at the physical assembly of parts
  • Performs a variety of assembly operations using drawings, BOM’s and Work Order Travelers to assemble modules, boards, panels and cables
  • Must have SAP knowledge
  • Safely use hand tools such as nail guns, Chop saw, Panel saw, Impact driver/drill, Table saw.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Good communication skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Follow shop rules

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, keyboards or controls
  • Reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • Occasionally required to walk, sit; and may also be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
