Job Description

Accountable for an operation within a Division to achieve results identified by the Corporations WIN Strategy and division/business unit Strategy Deployment goals. Leads a team of empowered employees to continuously meet and exceed customer expectations.

Provides leadership for operation employees. Coordinates cross-functional activities that may include any or all the following: Sales & Marketing, Design Engineering, Applications Engineering, Inventory Control and Production. Interacts with current and prospective customers, Sales Representatives & Distributors, all levels of the Division.

  • To profitably grow the business and achieve Business Unit, Division, and , Corporate goals monthly, quarterly, and annually. Works with current and potential customers to promote and leverage company technologies, systems, products, and services.

  • Establishes and maintains premier customer service.

  • Led strategy deployment for the operation concentrating on Lean Initiatives and Sales growth. Leads Manufacturing, Applications Engineering, and Sales/Marketing functions to ensure operational efficiency and economy.

  • Accountable for driving Lean Initiatives throughout the operation to ensure they are fully embraced and implemented.

  • Ensures the operation has adequate inventory, production control scheduling, and shipping/receiving logistics.

  • Develops a budget plan and manages operations within budget constraints.

  • Maintains familiarity with the competitive environment within the geographical area of responsibility.

  • Represents the operation at the Business Unit and Division levels.

  • Provides leadership by promoting team concepts, coaching, counseling, retaining, mentoring, training, talent management, and individual development.

  • Drives a culture of accountability and results through strategy deployment and effective performance management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business discipline is required; an MBA is desirable.

  • Minimum seven years of operations experience with budgetary and P&L responsibility (e.g. Business Unit Manager, Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager).

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities using effective problem-solving/resolution skills and a team focus.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively and persuasively present information to management, customers, and employees.

  • Knowledge of the relevant manufacturing, quality, or operations support function would typically be obtained through a bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing-related business or technical discipline, and eight or more years of progressive experience within the specialty area.

  • Four or more years of increasing responsibility for leadership within manufacturing operations requiring advanced project planning and team organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated teamwork and team-building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities.

  • Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.

  • Thorough understanding of production technology, and/or specialty support areas including broad knowledge of business and regulatory environments and trends.
