Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Alloy Handler includes, but is not limited to:

• • Safe and effective forklift and telehandler operations for the needs of the melt shop/raw material team.
  • Responsible for receiving, inspecting, and transferring electrodes, alloys, and fluxes for the EAF & LMF.
  • Be responsible for tracking and managing the raw material orders and coordinating with different types of contractors/suppliers.
  • Receive materials and manage inventory of raw materials including electrodes.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
  • Candidates must be able to work in some extreme temperature environments as this job requires extensive outdoor work in all weather conditions.
  • Perform all pre-shift equipment inspections.
  • Perform all other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of forklift and/or telehandler operating experience.
• Certified Forklift Operator
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working safely around tractor trailers, rail cars, and conveyor belt systems.
• Minimum of 1 year of previous heavy industrial work experience.
• Demonstrated high attention to detail, with a strong focus on safety and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Steel Mill Experience
• Experience managing inventory of materials
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience performing maintenance on conveyor belt systems
