About the Role Role Summary The Accounting Clerk – Treasury plays a key role in supporting the Finance Department by ensuring that cash transactions, client payments, refunds, reconciliations, and treasury-related processes are executed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with company policies, internal controls, and financial procedures. The role serves as a critical control point in safeguarding company funds, maintaining financial integrity, and ensuring a complete audit trail for all treasury activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and validating financial transactions, maintaining treasury records, performing reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, and liaising with clients, banks, and internal stakeholders. The position requires a highly ethical individual with strong attention to detail, excellent numerical skills, and a commitment to compliance and fraud prevention. Key Responsibilities: • Process daily treasury transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, and internal controls. • Verify and validate client proof of payments and supporting documentation. • Issue receipts and process approved client refunds accurately and on time. • Record, classify, and maintain treasury transaction data and reports with a high level of accuracy. • Perform regular reconciliations to ensure all payments and receipts are properly accounted for and posted. • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies and treasury-related queries through timely follow-up with relevant stakeholders. • Prepare and submit treasury reports with complete supporting documentation. • Liaise with clients, banking institutions, port authorities, and internal departments to support efficient treasury operations. • Maintain complete and accurate documentation to support audit readiness and compliance requirements. • Identify and promptly escalate irregularities, suspicious transactions, documentation gaps, or potential fraud indicators. • Provide administrative support through document filing, scanning, archiving, and maintenance of treasury records. Qualifications Experience: Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Accounting certification will be an added advantage. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting, treasury, cashier, or finance role. Experience in the maritime, shipping, logistics, or related industry will be advantageous. Experience in transaction verification, reconciliations, and compliance-driven environments. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Experience with accounting systems such as SAP is an advantage. Familiarity with accounting procedures, financial controls, and treasury processes.
