Job Summary/ Key Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY
The Legal Summer Intern will support the Legal team with a combination of administrative duties, case-related work, and cross-functional coordination with Claims and UAC. This role provides hands-on exposure to legal processes, case management, and internal compliance practices while contributing to the efficient operation of the department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Assist with filing, scanning, and organizing legal documents and case files
- Support preparation and review of case-related materials and documentation
- Conduct basic review and summarization of claims and legal documents
- Help track case information and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with Claims and UAC teams to gather and organize required information
- Provide general administrative and ad hoc support to the Legal team
- Presence required on‑site
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree (Business, Law, or related field)
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to recognize attorney versus non-attorney responsibilities.
- Is Proactive and follow-up with internal parties.
- Ability to manage confidential information.
- Advanced English skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) with adaptability to new software.
- Professionalism, discretion, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Background in logistics, maritime, insurance or legal.
- Experience within multimodal shipping industry.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
- Must be able to commute to the designated office location
- Presence required on‑site for duration of internship
Work Authorization
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
This role requires working on-site in the office for five days a week, from Monday to Friday. There is no option for fully remote or hybrid work in this role, unless required off-site duties are being performed.
