Job Summary/ Key Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY
The developer produces clean code to specifications, utilizing the accepted coding conventions and quality assurance testing standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Participate in daily scrum to stay in the loop with on-going projects and provide feedback / receive guidance from the project managers (PM).
- Participates in weekly peer & team code reviews to promote clean code, identify potential bugs and collaboratively resolve roadblocks.
- Participates in bi-weekly backlog refinement / sprint planning to promote organization and assist the PM in aligning the focus of the development team for the upcoming sprint.
- Participates in bi-weekly sprint retrospectives to promote new ideas / ways of working and assist the PM in arriving at solutions to commonplace issues.
- Complete assigned tasks within the 2-week sprint as assigned by the PM. Tasks may include, for example, developing stored procedures, coding methods, designing interfaces, drafting documentation (i.e. user guides, ERMs, etc.), or developing the backend architecture.
- Unit test code prior to any review to ensure maximum usability and adheres to the accepted coding conventions.
- Provide day-to-day support to the division as required by the PM.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio / T-SQL (schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, triggers)
- Proficiency in Visual Studio / .Net Framework (C#, MVVM, XAML)
- Ability to self-sustain with independent study for continuing education or to solve problems / roadblocks, i.e. utilizing developer forums
- Ability to collaboratively work within a development team
PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Basic knowledge of the Agile Framework
- Familiarity with DevOps / SRQ methodology
- Organizational skills
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science related field (i.e. software engineering, database architecture, UI/UX (User Interface / Experience), machine learning, etc.)
- 6 months to 1 year of programming experience, preferably within the .Net Framework
