Job Summary/ Key Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY

Enters data for hazardous cargo in MSC systems, according the IMDG and MSC US procedures and guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Data entry for the DGDs (Dangerous Goods Declarations) in the MSC system.
• Advises customers of any issues with paperwork.
• Sends the booking confirmations to the shipper when the shipments are approved in the system.
• Communicates with shippers for any IMDG/MSC required paperwork.
• Escalates unique or complex issues to the appropriate supervisor for resolution when necessary.
• Generates potential solutions to customer issues.
• Performs other tasks as required by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in a similar role
• Trained and IMDG certified
• Experience with dangerous goods regulations terminology
• English: advanced
• Strong attention to details
• Organized, efficient, and able to manage time effectively
• Strong customer service mindset, focused, and responsive
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Great team player
• Knowledge of MS Excel with the ability to learn new software
  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
