Job Description Summary
A psychometrist is responsible for the administration and scoring of psychological and neuropsychological tests under the supervision of licensed psychologists.Psychometrists are an important part of the evaluation process and work closely as a team with faculty psychologists who provide training and ongoing supervision in test administration and scoring. The psychometrist position will provide exposure to a wide variety of pediatric populations, and supervision by licensed psychologists.

Job Description
Required Education or Experience:
High School Degree and at least two years relevant program experience.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, flexible, and a self-directed learner who can quickly master psychometric administration and scoring procedures. Preference will be given to applicants who possess at a minimum of a bachelor's degree in psychology from an accredited college or university, relevant psychometry experience, knowledge of psychometric principles, and ability to interact professionally with diverse staff and patient populations, especially children.
Job Duties:
35% - (Essential): Establish an appropriate testing environment. Establish rapport with patients during psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations. Use behavior management strategies to elicit patients’ best performance. Accurate administration of psychometric tests according to standardized procedures as selected by faculty psychologists for psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations.
25% (Essential): Accurate scoring of psychometric test results according to national norms. Accurate entry of data (test results and scores) and qualitative descriptions in report templates of faculty psychologists.
20% (Essential): Documentation of detailed behavioral observations of the examinee during testing to aid in test interpretation.
20% - (Essential): Assist administrative staff with duties related to patient triage. Score behavior rating scales and other tests.

Physical Requirements:
Continuous requirements are to work indoors; possess good finger dexterity; maintain tactile sensory functions; maintain 20/40 vision corrected in one eye or with both eyes; maintain good peripheral vision capabilities; and maintain hearing acuity with correction.
Frequent requirements are to perform job functions while standing/upright, sitting, and walking/mobile; fully use both hands and arms; perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders; perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements; reach in all directions; see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance; match or discriminate between colors; determine distance and relationship between objects including depth perception; and hear and/or understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet.
Infrequent requirements are to work outdoors in all weather and temperature extremes; work in confined/cramped spaces and dusty areas; kneel and squat to perform job functions; perform pinching operations; lift and carry 15 lbs. unassisted; lift objects up to 15 lbs. from floor level to a height of 36 inches unassisted; and push or pull objects up to 15 lbs. unassisted.
