All duties will be expected to be completed within the policies and procedures set forth for finances and grants accounting. The Department of Pediatrics is supportive of employee growth, professional development/career development and performance evaluations on a yearly basis. Job summary: The Department of Pediatrics is searching for an Accountant/Fiscal Analyst II position that will coordinate and implement the general fiscal, administrative, and research grant pre-award and post-award needs. All duties will be expected to be completed within the policies and procedures set forth for finances and grants accounting. The Department of Pediatrics is supportive of employee growth, professional development/career development and performance evaluations on a yearly basis.

Duties:

35% - Under the guidance of the Grants Team Manager and Director of Research Administration, this applicant will Review new accounts in Our Day / accounting system(s) (Budgets, AR invoices, F&A account, subawards tracking, tuition, internal service payments, vendor set-up)

25% - Review and approve of research purchases for assigned divisions for allowability within the project budget and consonant with State and University procurement policies. Extensive knowledge of Federal, State, and University purchasing rules and regulations is required. Review and approval of research travel in Our Day per State and University guidelines and within the project budget.

20% - Monitor incoming funds; Process financial documents in Our Day processes to include but not limited to Costing Allocations, Payroll Accounting Adjustments, Requisitions, Supplier Invoices, Journal Entry and reconciliation of closing POs.

25% - Prepare and send invoices to sponsors as required per project agreements; Assist in the review of Effort Certifications; Create / Update other support documents; monitor incoming funds (i.e. AR and unclaimed cash)

5% - Other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and three years professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending. A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for two years of the required work experience.
