MUSC Health – Main Hospital in Downtown Charleston is seeking an experienced and collaborative Day Shift Radiology Diagnostics Supervisor to support daily operations within Diagnostic Radiology. As part of South Carolina’s premier academic medical center, this leader will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality imaging services in a complex, high-acuity environment.
The Supervisor will oversee day-shift technologists at Main hospital and Rutledge Tower, manage workflow and staffing, and partner closely with radiologists, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams to support MUSC’s mission of delivering world-class, patient-centered care.

Job Description
Leadership & Staff Support
· Provide daily supervision, coaching, and support to diagnostic radiologic technologists.
· Oversee onboarding, competencies, evaluations, and performance feedback.
· Model MUSC values of collaboration, compassion, integrity, and respect.
· Assist with hiring, scheduling, and workforce planning.
Operational Management
· Coordinate staffing assignments to ensure appropriate coverage based on patient volume and acuity.
· Monitor workflow, exam throughput, and resource utilization to optimize efficiency.
· Partner with radiologists, nursing units, the Emergency Department, and OR teams for coordinated patient care.
· Identify workflow challenges and lead process improvements.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
· Ensure compliance with MUSC Health policies, radiation safety standards, and regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, DHEC).
· Support QA initiatives, safety checks, incident reporting, and corrective action plans.
· Promote a culture of patient safety, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Clinical & Technical Support
· Provide real-time guidance on imaging protocols, equipment operation, and troubleshooting.
· Support equipment quality checks and coordinate service requests with vendors.
· Ensure consistent application of imaging standards across modalities and units.
Communication & Collaboration
· Communicate departmental updates, workflow changes, and expectations effectively.
· Serve as an escalation point for staff concerns, operational needs, and patient experience issues.
· Participate in department meetings, improvement projects, and interdisciplinary initiatives.

Additional Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 6 years progressive work experience and 1 years management experience
- ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology (RT(R))
- Current South Carolina licensure (or eligibility)
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Supervisory or lead technologist experience
- Experience in an academic medical center or high-volume hospital
- Working knowledge of Epic Radiant and integrated RIS/PACS systems
- Experience with Lean, PDSA, or similar quality improvement methodologies
