Job Description
EEG Specialist (Pay Grade 28)
Credentialed through ABRET with R. EEG. T Certification
- Review EEG studies for technical quality, completeness, and clinical relevance
- Manage EEG data, including accurate documentation, labeling, storage, and reporting
- Collaborate with physicians and communicate critical or urgent findings per established protocols
- Maintain compliance with ABRET standards and departmental policies
CLTM EEG Specialist (Pay Grade 28)
Credentialed through ABRET with R. EEG. T, CLTM Certifications
- Review EEG studies for technical quality, completeness, and clinical relevance
- Manage EEG data, including accurate documentation, labeling, storage, and reporting
- Collaborate with physicians and communicate critical or urgent findings per established protocols
- Maintain compliance with ABRET standards and departmental policies
- Function as a resource and leader to residents and EEG staff
NA CLTM EEG Specialist (Advanced Practice Role) (Pay Grade 29)
Credentialed through ABRET with NA CLTM, CLTM, and R. EEG T. Certifications
- Review EEG studies for technical quality, completeness, and clinical relevance
- Manage EEG data, including accurate documentation, labeling, storage, and reporting
- Collaborate with physicians and communicate critical or urgent findings per established protocols
- Function as a resource and leader to residents and EEG staff with data management.
- Provides leadership and education to EEG Technicians and Trainees at MUSC, MUSC RHN sites and Tele EEG Sites.
- Facilitates and develops education for Neurology Residents and Fellows.
- Maintain compliance with ABRET standards and departmental policies
Additional Job Description
Minimum Requirements:
EEG Specialist
- Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Technology program or equivalent
- Registered EEG Technician (R. EEG T.) through AAET
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in neurodiagnostic testing
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider)
CLTM EEG Specialist
- Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited END Technology program or equivalent
- Registered EEG Technician (R. EEG T.) through ABRET (must be maintained)
- Certified Long Term Monitoring (CLTM) Technician through ABRET
- Minimum of five (5) years of EEG Technician experience
- Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross – Healthcare Provider)
- Ability to work irregular hours and under stressful conditions
NA-CLTM EEG Specialist
- Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited END Technology program or equivalent
- Registered EEG Technician (R. EEG T.) through ABRET (must be maintained)
- Certified Long Term Monitoring (CLTM) Technician through ABRET
- Certified Neuro Analyst (CNA) through ABRET
- Minimum of seven (7) years of EEG Technician experience
- Including at least two (2) years of CLTM EEG experience
- Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross – Healthcare Provider)
- Ability to work irregular hours and under stressful conditions
