The Ophthalmic Technician Lead will be responsible for supervising a team of ophthalmic technicians, ensuring the highest standard of patient care, and assisting in various diagnostic and clinical procedures. This role requires a blend of leadership skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of ophthalmology.

Job Description

COA/ COT lead position:
Job Summary/Purpose: The COA/COT lead will perform advanced medical history, checks patient's visual acuity, dilates patient's eyes and assist with office surgical procedures. They will also perform basic slit-lamp exam, visual fields, color vision tests, lensometry, tonometry, keratometry, and refractometry with the equipment within the clinic. Maintains complete and accurate information in the patient's medical record. Prepares and maintains exam rooms to ensure they are adequately stocked with supplies and that all equipment and instruments are in proper working order. The COA/COT lead will help with screening patient phone calls and assist with answering patient questions. Perform other related duties incidental to the work.

COA/ COT lead position:
Required Minimum Training and Education: Minium of 2 years of specialized ophthalmic experience preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: JCAHPO certification as a COA or COT required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
Additional Job Description
Education: Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of specialized ophthalmic experience with completion of a certified technician program.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Certification as a COT through Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) required and must be maintained throughout employment. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
