Job Description Summary
The Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) Coordinator is a hybrid role that has an advanced clinical concentration and with administrative responsibilities for the MCS Department. Responsible for coordinating comprehensive, specialized care for advanced heart failure patients who are candidates for MCS therapy, and management of postoperative care for those implanted with MCS, as well as ongoing outpatient management of those with MCS in place.Entity

Job Description
The MCS Coordinator reports to the MCS Program Manager. Under general supervision, the MCS Coordinator assists in coordinating the care of the mechanical circulatory support patients. The position ensures the achievement of optimal evidence-based patient care and departmental goals through efficient daily operations and compliance with established rules, regulations, and guidelines. The MCS Coordinator promotes interdisciplinary collaboration across the organization. The MCS Coordinator assists with providing leadership presence and patient/staff support by providing coverage 24/7, 365 days/year. The MCS clinician uses current protocols to assist in medical care of patients and assists in the research process by maintaining accurate data.
Additional Job Description
Bachelor’s degree in nursing required and three years related nursing experience. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Some positions require certification as a generalist in a related specialty area by the American Nurses Association (ANA). Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
