Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Research Program Assistant to join our research team evaluating pharmacologic treatments for addiction. Under the supervision of the Site Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Kelly Barth, the Coordinator will play a key role in supporting all aspects of study operations, including participant recruitment, enrollment, study visits, data collection, sample handling, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that all activities are conducted in accordance with the study protocol, Manual of Procedures (MOP), and local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in clinical research, addiction science, or pursuing further education in medicine, psychology, public health, or related fields.

Job Description

FLSA: Hourly/Non-exempt

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm or 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Remote Days: After initial training, one day per week remote

Job Duties:

  • Recruit, screen, and enroll potential participants according to study protocols. (15%)
  • Conduct the informed consent process and obtain authorization(s) for release of information as needed. (5%)
  • Collaborate with study medical clinicians to assess eligibility, randomize, and monitor participants. (10%)
  • Schedule participants for study visits and ensure adherence to timelines. (15%)
  • Conduct study visits, including structured interviews, questionnaires, and safety assessments. (15%)
  • Collect, process, and document biological samples and prepare/shipment of biologic samples per protocol. (5%)
  • Complete visit checklists, progress notes, and maintain accurate study documentation. (10%)
  • Enter and manage study data in electronic case report forms (eCRFs), responding promptly to data queries. (10%)
  • Monitor participants for adverse events (AEs) and serious adverse events (SAEs), and report as required. (5%)
  • Train and onboard participants in the use of study-related remote monitoring. (5%)
  • Support investigators and study team with protocol adherence, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance (5%)

Preferred Training and Experience: Prior research experience in clinical trials, especially addiction or behavioral health.
