Job Description
Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in a related field and completion of a master’s degree in a relevant field within three years of hire in the role. Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent. Seven (7) years of work experience in a laboratory setting with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or management role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the clinical laboratory, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
- Manage and supervise laboratory staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to ensure high-quality and efficient operations.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and maintenance.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of laboratory tests and results.
- Maintain quality control and quality assurance programs to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support patient care and clinical research.
- Manage the laboratory budget, including ordering supplies and managing inventory.
- Stay current with advancements in laboratory technology and best practices.
Additional Job Description
Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 7 years progressive work experience and 2 years management experience State licensure and/or professional certification requirement/s dependent on position. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.If you like working with energetic enthusiastic individuals, you will enjoy your career with us!
