Under the direction of the Associate Vice Chair of Public Health Education for the Department of Public Health Sciences, this position will work collaboratively with faculty and university leadership on the appropriate and effective integration of Instructional Technology into teaching, learning, and evaluation for the online and residential Master of Public Health programs. Additionally, this position will support marketing efforts by developing written content and developing micro credentialing courses aligned with the mission and strategic plan of Public Health Sciences.
Job Duties:
1. Develop and build online graduate and Continuing Education (CEUs) courses in a Learning Management System (LMS) to maintain consistency in design across all MPH programs. Use of Universal Learning Design principles to meet digital accessibility for online content and consultation with the Librarians at MUSC to apply copyright rules in the development of digital course content. 25%
2. Collaborate with MUSC Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (CATL) and Interprofessional Offices to create and execute learning strategies and training sessions for faculty instructors for continuous improvement in course design, course syllabi development, and learning content. Act as liaison on various university-wide educational technology committees at MUSC. 25%
3. Serves as the primary social media expert and strategist for the MPH program, using relevant applications and digital platforms to create and manage content across platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Additionally, work with external vendors to coordinate digital marketing campaigns for student recruitment. 25%
4. Manage the MPH program’s content creation efforts by identifying and developing opportunities that align with the MPH program’s mission and strategic goals. Proactively source relevant contact using strategic coordination with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to gather information for blogs, social media content, and recruitment materials. Streamline the editorial process by tracking content requests, managing deadlines, and keeping contributors informed throughout all stages of development. 25%
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
The person in this position must be able to demonstrate ability to work in digital learning spaces including the Learning Management System (LMS); video recording and editing software; and quiz/poll/survey software; Proficiency in building a gradebook, including rubrics, in course LMS for assignments. Additionally, the person in this position must be able to demonstrate ability to work on social media platforms. Lastly, the person in this position must maintain confidentiality of student matters and pay attention to detail. Applicant must have knowledge of HTML, have good computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, etc), is dependable, have an outgoing and positive personality, and the ability to grasp new skills and knowledge quickly.
Some positions require a valid driver's license and good driving record; or correctable vision of 20/40 in both eyes, with or without conventional lenses, and physical qualifications in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, Section 391.41; or AAVMA certification.
