Job Description:

The Department of Orthopaedics and Physical Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina is recruiting a board certified/board eligible Foot and Ankle Orthopedic Surgeon with exceptional expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques and sports-related foot and ankle injuries. The incumbent will partner with our current orthopaedic faculty and clinical staff in serving patients in the Charleston tri-county area, including local and regional professional sport teams.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

Clinical Excellence:

· Board certification/eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery with fellowship training in Foot and Ankle Surgery

· Exceptional proficiency in minimally invasive foot and ankle surgical techniques

· Specialized expertise in sports-related foot and ankle injuries including:

o Arthroscopic procedures

o Cartilage restoration techniques

Research Commitment:

· Strong commitment to clinical research participation and leadership

· Willingness to be an active member of collaborative research teams

· Experience or strong interest in:

o Patient-reported outcomes research

o Surgical technique innovation studies

o Multi-center clinical trials

· Publication record or demonstrated research potential

Additional Qualifications:

· Sincere interest in medical education and resident/fellow training

· Experience with professional and collegiate athlete care preferred

· Commitment to advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques

· Collaborative approach to multidisciplinary patient care
