Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Data Collection & Analysis (15%):
    Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data from clinical studies, patient surveys, and health records related to emergency medical care. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity in data management.
  • Study Design & Implementation (15%):
    Assist in the design and development of research protocols, including formulating hypotheses, identifying key metrics, and selecting appropriate methodologies. Support the implementation of research projects from start to finish, including recruitment, data collection, and analysis.
  • Literature Review & Reporting (10%):
    Conduct thorough literature reviews to inform research questions and methodologies. Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, trends, and implications in emergency medicine, ensuring clarity for a clinical audience.
  • Collaboration with Clinical Teams (15%):
    Work closely with attendings, residents, students, emergency care specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure research aligns with clinical needs and real-world applications. Facilitate communication between research and clinical departments to translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Statistical Analysis & Software Use (10%):
    Utilize advanced statistical tools (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS, Python) to perform data analysis. Interpret complex datasets and produce clear visualizations (graphs, charts, tables) for presentations and publications.
  • Compliance & Ethical Oversight (5%):
    Ensure all research adheres to ethical standards and regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA, IRB approvals, and other legal requirements related to patient data. Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  • Grant Writing & Funding Proposals (15%):
    Contribute to the preparation of research proposals and grant applications for funding opportunities. Help identify potential funding sources and assist with the submission process.
  • Presentations & Publication (15%):
    Contribute to the creation of presentations for conferences, meetings, and publications in peer-reviewed journals. Support the dissemination of research findings to various stakeholders, including medical professionals, patients, and policymakers.
