The Storm Eye Institute, part of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), is a nationally recognized leader in ophthalmic patient care, research, and education. Key Responsibilities:
- Actively assist with in clinic procedures and minor surgeries.
- Participate in daily rounding with ophthalmologists and subspecialty providers.
- Coordinate and manage prior authorizations for diagnostics, medications, and surgical interventions.
- Provide direct and indirect patient care in accordance with nursing standards and institutional policies.
- Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care and ensure smooth care transitions.
- Collaborate with clinical support staff to streamline workflow and enhance patient satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
RN II Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
