Job Description Summary
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pmNuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation. Prepares and administers radioactive chemical compounds known as radiopharmaceuticals. Knowledgeable in IV placement to avoid extravasations of radiopharmaceuticals. Performs computer processing and image enhancement. Provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation. Provides excellent patient care. Demonstrates excellent customer service.

Job Description
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the nuclear medicine equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans. Administers radiopharmaceuticals and medications to obtain diagnostic images and/or provides therapy as ordered by physician. Performs quality care to pediatric through adult patients using professional and ethical judgment along with critical thinking in performing duties.
Additional Job Description
Must be a certified nuclear medicine technologist (CNMT) or registered technologist (RT(N)) or certification or
registry eligible with a B.S. or B.A. preferred. Should have acquired skills from CAHEA approved program and
preferably, one or two years’ experience in a similar position. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation
Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA)
BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for
Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS,
PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training.
